TREEHOUSE MASTERS : EPISODE 12

"BIRD NEST"

The matriarch of a multi-generational Memphis family with a retreat in a wild bird paradise reaches out to Pete to build a giant bird nest treehouse. This “human nest” will pay homage to the magnificent egret nests that line the family’s lake, and will be housed in two hackberry trees and one sturdy oak. The two-story retreat will feature driftwood railings woven to truly look like a living nest, a Southern-style living area, and twelve hand-crafted windows. The exterior will feature a wraparound screen-porch, wildlife viewing deck, and a dumbwaiter rigged to send Southern sweet tea to the roof during sunset bird watching sessions.

TREEHOUSE MASTERS : EPISODE 11

"SCOTTISH HIGH GARDEN"

The whole thing started with a wish, Jones said.
“Five years ago, we rebuilt our old garage in Florence Park, and I told Lance that I wished we had a treehouse for a gameroom and for the grandkids,” Jones said. “He is an architect and engineer, but he was unsure how to safely build it.”

That’s where Animal Planet’s “Treehouse Masters” came into the picture. Jones saw an episode of the show in which Nelson and his crew travel the United States building dream treehouses for people.
One late night, she sent an email to the show’s producers outlining her own mental design for a cottage to be built in the triple-trunk pin oak in their backyard.

TREEHOUSE MASTERS : EPISODE 9

"AFRICAN SAFARI HUT"

An author who grew up in Kenya has always longed to build an African-inspired circular hut treehouse to share with his wife at their home in Washington State. Pete and his crew capture the spirit of Africa by creating a getaway with hand-hewn rustic cedar, a traditional thatched roof, and mud walls, all supported in a cluster of Douglas fir trees sitting 15-feet high and boasting a kitchen and tribal-themed interiors decorated with authentic Kenyan masks and spears from the client’s personal travels. A fourth fir houses a spiral staircase, leading to an aerial walkway that includes a special tribute to the couple’s beloved French bulldog, custom made by Pete.

TREEHOUSE MASTERS : EPISODE 8

"MILE-HIGH MAN CAVE"

Pete builds his manliest (and one of his most expensive!) treehouses yet for a Texas dad who adores his wife and three daughters dearly but yearns for a place away from the females to spend some quality man-time with his first grandson. This Western-style mancave treehouse boasts over 800 square feet of living space, stone interior walls, a custom cigar humidor, state-of-the-art kitchen, a hidden flat-screen TV, bathroom, and (as if all that’s not enough) is both capable of sleeping five AND has a massive deck featuring a 600-pound custom meat smoker! It’s one of Pete’s priciest builds ever. Sprawled across three sturdy oaks, the treehouse will have a rope bridge that will lead from the main area to a high crow’s nest, armed with water gun turrets.

"RECORDING HIGH RECORDING STUDIO"

A family from nearby Seattle wants to expand its already famous rural recording studio up into the trees! Up for the challenge, Pete creates a high-tech, two-story recording oasis more than 36 feet tall within a group of cedar trees. Marrying music and nature, Pete and crew accent the treehouse with rust-colored metal,
patterned, textured cork walls and a massive picture window that overlooks the wild salmon creek below. Upon completion, this musical treetop masterpiece is ready for its first recording session when a Grammy-award-winning megastar arrives at the reveal to lay down a brand-new track.
